Supermove raises $18M to make moving and storage simple

We’re excited to share that Supermove has raised $18 million in Series A funding.

Our Series A is a led by a16z, along with participation from existing investors including Founders Fund, and angels from DoorDash, Pilot, Scale, & Slack. Along with this funding, a16z’s David Ulevitch has joined Supermove’s board. The funding will be used to expand our product, serve our customers, and grow our team.

When we started Supermove (software for moving companies), we just wanted to fix our own personal struggle when it came to finding and paying for movers to move our apartments. Since then, we’ve partnered with more than a hundred moving, storage, and logistics companies, servicing more than $150M worth of moves and 100,000s of their customers.

With COVID’s impact, more than 40,000 moving & storage businesses are undergoing immense pressure to keep up with sky-rocketing demand caused by rapid de-urbanization, while also having to deal with rising wages and labor shortages. It’s become clear to our customers that in order to survive and compete, technology must be used in every single aspect of their business to streamline operations to cut costs and time while also delivering a new-age experience to keep employees and customers happy.

This industry has been running on typewriters, pen, paper, and phones for the last 100 years, and with Supermove, customers can now do what used to take them days and weeks, within minutes. Everything is on the cloud and our customers can book moves and analyze reports from their own smartphones. Our team is built from companies like Facebook, Google, Procore, Uber, and our founders used to build software for nonprofit organizations. We’re talented engineers that truly care about the impact we make with our customers.
